A group of students from the sophomore classes of Greenfield, Westview, Gleason, and Dresden are chosen to participate in a leadership board for Weakley County.  At the beginning of each school year applications for the leadership board are filled out by interested students.  These applications ask questions about the leadership qualities the students possess.  They are also required to write an essay telling how they would improve the community in which they live.  A reference from a teacher or principal from their school and one other reference is required to be turned in with their application.  A panel from First State Bank will choose 5 students from each Weakley County School to participate in this Leadership Team.  After they are chosen, these 20 students meet together once a month during school hours to learn how to work together as a team.  They take various trips to learn about different businesses and government in their town and state.
